2012 Subaru Impreza
For the 2012 Impreza, Subaru took something great and made it amazing. New features include an even more fuel-efficient engine, an upgraded and roomier interior, and a new engine.
The previous engine has been replaced with a smaller 2.0-liter flat-4 that produces 148 horsepower, the SUBARU BOXER®. This ensures such fantastic fuel economy that the 2012 Subaru Impreza can officially boast being the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive vehicle running on gasoline. Each trim delivers an estimated 36 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG in city traffic.
It is available in five trims: the 2.0i (base model), 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Limited, 2.0i Sport Premium, and 2.0i Sport Limited. Above the standard seven airbags, four-wheel drive, and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), the Premium adds 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a six speaker audio system with iPod/USB jack and Bluetooth® capabilities. Beyond that, the Limited upgrades to a leather interior, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and automatic climate controls. Sport versions add fog lights, roof rails, and an all weather package to each trim. A moonroof and GPS navigational system are available with all 2012 Subaru Imprezas.
When it comes to safety, Subaru is always at the front of the pack. Every 2012 Subaru Impreza comes standard with stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Added for the current model year are whiplash-reducing head restraints and a driver knee airbag. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2012 Subaru Impreza a Top Safety Pick after is received a score of "good" on front, side, roof, and rear strength tests.
In recent years, the Subaru Impreza has become a popular alternative to more well-known small sedans. This can be attributed to its reasonable price, safety record, and standard four-wheel drive.
