2011 Subaru Outbacks Come With Wifi

The all new 2011 Subaru Outback continues an almost two-decade long tradition of being ahead of its time in vehicle design and option offering.

The latest all wheel drive (AWD) Subaru comes standard with WiFi Internet capability. The vehicles will be rolling WiFi hotspots; this will providing connectivity for up to 10 users more than 150 feet away.

"The WiFi works over 3G cellular networks via encrypted connections with download speeds averaging 400 kbps to 1.2mbps," according to Subaru. The system stays active while the vehicle is in motion.

2011's Subaru Outback Mobile WiFi access is provided by Autonet Mobile, one of the first in-car Internet service provider.

How does the rest of Outback look? Not bad at all. The 2011 Outback comes standard with 170 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed manual or an optional Lineartronic CVT transmission.

An upgraded V6 3.6 liter engine with over 250 horsepower is also available. Both engine types produce similar fuel economy ratings, maxing out at 19 city/27 highway and 18 city/25 highway, respectively.

Asking price for the base 2011 Subaru Outback is around $22,995, but add that powerful V6 engine and you are looking at closer to $27,995. There are six separate trim levels in all, with varying pricing and options.

And as always, roof rails, all wheel drive and fun times come standard with all new Outback models.
