Subaru models continue taking home "Best in Class" awards from various sources. Every year, Kiplinger selects a few models for its "Best in Class" award. Subaru claimed two of these awards for 2011, with Subaru Forester winning Best Small Crossover, and Subaru Outback taking home Best Wagon.
Kiplinger's winners are judged on safety, performance and value, along with various road tests. You can test drive all these models as well, by stopping into Heuberger Motors in Colorado Springs, CO.
"Subaru's unique approach to its vehicles continues to win praise from the critics," said David Vernet, general manager of North Reading Subaru, a New England dealership. "Subaru's Boxer engines and all-wheel drive throughout the model lineup are unique features that offer tremendous value, especially here in New England, where drivers need a vehicle that can cope with extreme weather."
The Subaru Forester was named Kiplinger's Best New Crossover in 2009. 2011's Forester has an updated engine, which is an improved version of last year's EJ20 that boosts fuel economy 10%. All Subaru models received a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety based on crash test this year.
