More Information on Subaru BRZ

Are you one of those die hard Subaru fans looking forward to the Subaru BRZ? Well, Heuberger Motors, Inc has some more details that could help hold you over until its release. Spy photographers at Car Magazine snapped some shots of the sporty coupe in Germany. Operating underneath a psychedelically swirled exterior mask, the BRZ features an integrated back spoiler, fastback raked rear, twin bazooka exhausts, and an elegant cab-backwards stance.

We know we've whet your appetite now.  In just one month, you'll get all the specs when the car is officially unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. Nonetheless, word has slipped that Subaru enthusiasts can expect 200bhp. The power for this coupe will not come from a turbocharger like it did in the Impreza WRX, and STI; instead, its power will blast from a direct-injection FA20 four-cylinder boxer engine. Moreover, the drivetrain will be a rear wheel drive configuration, which will be a huge switch from the standard all wheel-drive chassis Subaru cars have been known for.  Another detail the automaker has already confirmed is that the BRZ measurements will be 4191 mm long and 1770 mm wide making it a comparatively slim two-seater.

"The BRZ arrives in UK dealers in spring 2012, priced at around £25,000, wobbling exchange rates notwithstanding,"1 said Car Magazine. Many are looking forward to finally seeing the BRZ production model, but seeing is all they may do. Due to the couple being position as an "exclusive, rare-groove sports car choice" 1, the new Subaru will see production numbers of only 500 a year.
