Subaru Tops IIHS Safety List for 2012 Models

Astoundingly, Subaru has done it again for the third year in a row.   It was the only automobile manufacturer to nab a "Top Safety Pick" rating for every single one of its models. The 2012 Subaru Impreza, which produces an eco 36 mpg, in particular, was recognized in the "Small Car" category.

The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) ratings are well renowned due to the reliability of the IIHS, and they feel the level of safety a Subaru offers is top notch.  As Tom Doll, Executive Vice President and COO of Subaru, explains, "Our customers take their safety very seriously and so we are very pleased that IIHS has recognized us again with a TOP SAFETY PICK winner for all our qualifying models. To be able to include the redesigned 2012 Impreza to the list is an outstanding success and a tribute to the engineering that goes into our products. The IIHS reinforces to our customers that Subaru maintains the highest standards to produce vehicles that are fun-to- drive, durable, reliable as well as safe."1

"Top Safety Pick" vehicles are given the owner due to their outstanding job protecting drivers and passengers in front, side, rear, and (now, a new category) rollover crashes. To accomplish this, Subaru was required to get a "Good" rating in every category, which is the best rating a vehicle can get in these tests. Several vehicles across other brands were equipped with redesigned roofs to fare better in the rollover tests.

Here at Heuberger Motors, Inc we're proud to be able to give all our friends and clients the assurance that  all of the new 2012 Subaru vehicles are the safest the industry has to offer.
